viewing entry : A hard day

09/08/2006 11:15 by Justin

Big hills. Big weight. No water as streams and rivers pretty dry but found some late in the afternoon. Weather was windy and opened up right on que as we were about to pitch. Views are excellent though although we have to work hard for them. No signal last night so just had brekky after an hours climb! Just about at top around 550 metres. Looks like another hard day today as drizzle just started. Got to get on now. Catch up soon.

Hey Dudes, Sorry for not saying hello earlier. We can't believe how far you have got! Keep it up. Hope the weather turns in your favour!!! But I suspect that the views make up for it! If not think about the beers and hot baths waiting for you at the end as we are sure you need one by now!

Hi boys, glad you are still doing so well, pictures look fantastic and I can only imagine what a great time you are having. As you met my nan on a few occasions and had to put up with her phonecalls every night I thought I'd let you know she passed away Saturday morning. Bacon Roll. It puts life into perspective especially things such as your walk. Gutted I wont see you both before I go but will keep in touch and hope you'll do the same. Love Pete.

our grandchildren were very interested to meet you at the Church Inn at Chelmorton on Monday lunchtime. Harry studied the map as soon as we were home and was quick to explain to his mum what a long walk you are doing- and carrying all the gear.
I did 15 miles in North Wales with two friends on Tuesday - reasonably tiring but we are impressed that you are doing 13-15 miles EVERY DAY. I always welcome a couple of pints at the end of a walk...
it would be interesting to know where you are/have been if we check on the site, if you feel like publishing your whereabouts.
good luck going forward.....

Cheers for the letter Justin - it's amazing how much your grammar improves after a few weeks off the horse. Spent the weekend playing with 150 drummers, 20 dancers and a giant puppet in Edinburgh, obviously just practicising for the big John O'Groats gig. Speaking of which I might just come and noise you up at the finish line - babychams all round?

Really sorry not to have said hello before now. Had some trouble finding you either stupid me or stupid computer.
Just listened to your last audio report, sounds like you are doing well. Im sure it is hard going but you sound as if you are enjoying the walk.
Going to stick you on our favorites list to make it easy to find you next time.
We will add some pennies or more to your sponsor fund. Take care and check on you again soon.
