viewing entry : 30 days and 400 miles

06/08/2006 21:21 by Justin

Big day today, especially for a sunday. Made the 30 day mark and turned 400 miles by midday. Finished at 409. Switched from the limestone way to tissington way which is an old railway. Picture is of tissington. Also entered Derbyshire proper and peak district. Bit more rolling to say the least. Camped alongside track by an old signal box. Food stop tomorrow so more mini mars. Somebody loves me! Sun today but drizzle in the hills tonight, at just under 400 metres. Strange but highest we've been all walk.

Hi keep up the miles, welcome to the North & real hills, but it makes it more interesting doesn't it!! especially on the feet & lungs. Having done the coast to coast 190 miles in 9 days, I have nothing but admiration for what you are doing. The weather must be a problem with some of the high temps we have had, I know it as been for me on weekend cycling trips over the past month. As asmall contribution SAS have agreed to send £200 which I will leave at the office when i visit this week. If your route is going onthe Pennine way to the borders, I can recommend the area near to Keld in N. Yorkshire & the food at Mrs Whiteheads farm just outside of Keld is very good as well as the beds.
Good luck I willbe monitoring your progress Bernard

Another 100 miles and you can start singing the proclaimers song.
I've just been playing with the hybrid view of your map. Its very good. Although it looks like your next food stop is in the middle of a field.
